Jane Yip obtained her PhD from the University of Newcastle, Australia, specializing in neuropharmacology.
Her research is on the brain circuit that underlies neurological disorders including autism, schizophrenia, and depression. She pioneered the use of portable brain imaging to guide behavior treatment. Jane shares her expertise by analyzing brain mapping scans for Innovative Wellness.
In addition to providing brain mapping in her own practice, she also treats patients with autism using applied behavior analysis (ABA).
As a member of ABA International, and an NGO member of United Nations, she works on outreach projects internationally to advance the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Bill aiming to promote better recognition of individuals with mental disabilities.
Brain mapping, or a quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG), is a diagnostic tool used by the team at Innovative Wellness Centers to measure electrical activity in the form of brain wave patterns and displays the data in real time.
Jane then analyzes the qEEG results, and creates a report that is reviewed by our medical provider and discussed with our clients.
Typically, Innovative Wellness clients will have two brain mapping sessions. The first session sets the baseline and the second session allows for comparison after completing an individualized treatment plan. Comparing the baseline report to the follow-up reports will enable clients to see our program’s impact on the brain. During the qEEG procedure, a cap with dull probes is placed on your head. This process should not be painful or cause any discomfort. The qEEG process takes about 30 minutes to complete.
